Team Ice Fire would like to announce it's intention to retire from competetion after a journey which has spand 27 years. The decision by Nick and Esther to retire has been a difficult one, but the decision is the right one to take at this time due to warmer conditions, a lack of great competetion available in Europe, and the fact that Nick is getting on abit!
May we take the opportunity to thank all the people who have helped and supported us over the years, and who have worked hard to help create the opportunities for us to go and experience some of the many wonders of running sled dogs, whether it be racing through the Alps, crossing the Polar Ice Caps, or running throughout Norway.
During my 27 years, there have been some significant people who have been important at various stages of my racing life, they start with Christine Jackson, Paul Bright, Jon Pell, Jenny and Arthur Evans, and finally my wife Esther. All of you have taken further steps than any others, but the steps that others have taken, whether it be sponsors, production companies, agencies, friends or even race fans have been very welcome.
Mat I finally say one last thank you as I take my final bow with a tear for all the missed race wins, and I look forward to seeing out the days of my team in peace and quiet, and the comfort of knowing that we gave it a real good go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
