SPONSORSHIP
Our Promise
Team Ice Fire offer a unique way in promoting your company in a huge world wide media circus. With sled dog racing attracting world wide viewers through television and the internet, we as a team are closely watched by millions of people.
We take pride in how we carry ourselves in the public eye and build strong relationships with companies who strive to achieve the same aim.
British sportsmen and women are again proving themselves in world class sports, and we are proud to be a part of that!
Passport Scheme
Our biggest expense is traveling to other countries. We travel under the passport scheme, which means that when we come back to the UK we are not required to put the dogs in to quarantine for six months. It means that the entire team can come straight home, which is a massive welfare and psychological need, especially when you have been away from home for six months.
The passport scheme is fantastic, but comes at a huge price. Not just the initial amount of money required to vaccinate and meet the administration charges, but to keep everything all up to date. It is straight forward with just having two dogs, but when you are dealing with a racing team, it starts to get very expensive.
Intervet
Intervet (see www.intervet.com) have helped us with getting the team onto this scheme, and we are very grateful for their support. It has been a real pleasure working with a company who have helped to make this scheme possible, and by doing that, have allowed us opportunities in other countries.
Masters Complete Dog Foods
Our next biggest expense is feeding the dogs on a top quality food. We spent some time researching the market, as we were keen to feed the team on a British product. Fortunately we found a company called Masters Complete Dog Foods (see www.mastersdogfoods.co.uk) who worked with us in testing their product. After a while, it was clear that the quality of their food was exactly what we were looking for. The general performance and well being of the team was a credit to the food, and we are proud to be associated with such a high quality British based company.
I would like to thank Peter Masters and his team for supplying us with Masters Eclipse, and for giving us the opportunity to show that a British dog food manufacturer can produce a food which can meet the demanding needs of a distance racing sled dog team. We look forward to working with Masters in the future.
Forever Living Products
Forever Living (see www.foreverliving.com) produce an Aloe Vera product called Forever Freedom, which supports and helps the physical well-being of the dogs. This Aloe Vera product is without doubt one of the greatest natural extracts that you could give to any of your animals, and we have seen a massive difference in their performance, recovery rate, and all round health needs. We cannot promote this product enough, and all we can say is a huge thank you to Gregg Maughan and everybody at Forever Living.
Culpeppers
Previously we have always had our sled dog equipment made by North American outfitters, but last year the equipment for our expedition to Greenland was prepared and manufactured by Culpeppers, (see www.culpeppers.co.uk) who are based in the UK. The standard and quality of equipment was tested to its maximum in Greenland, and the results were fantastic.
Phil and Barbara Dixon are an outfitters of top quality sled dog equipment, and we are lucky to have them in the UK. The standards of workmanship are so high, when you are in temperatures exceeding -20 below, you know that your equipment will not let you down. We would like to say a big thank you to Phil and Babs for all their help and look forward to using their equipment in next years La Grande Odyssée race.
